Eloralintide is a selective, long-acting amylin receptor agonist that functions as a selective agonist of the amylin receptor. Amylin is a hormone secreted by pancreatic β cells. By binding to the AMY1 receptor in the brain, eloralintide mimics the mechanism of action of the endogenous hormone amylin, thereby regulating appetite through enhancing satiety, delaying gastric emptying, and reducing glucagon secretion.
In addition to lowering glucagon levels, improving leptin signaling, and supporting glycemic regulation, eloralintide reduces energy intake and acts as a physiological regulator of body weight.
